Cell cultures are one of the most commonly used research tools. We understand that scientists need ready-to-use products for cell cultures and so LifeGel is supplied on standard cell culture plates. All you have to do is open the plate and start to use it!

A layer of LifeGel is placed in a dish, and the cells are then seeded on the surface of the LifeGel where they form 3D structures/spheroids. The cells can grow in multiple layers, migrate within the hydrogel and interact with each other, which recreates the natural environment in which they originally live.

LifeGel is a hydrogel used in 3D cell cultures

LifeGel can be produced in different variations – with different parameters of key characteristics such as hardness, density or elasticity. We have conducted many experiments to find the most suitable combination of these characteristics to fit particular experiments and cell cultures. We know how important it is to have well-matched parameters for optimal cell growth.

Defined protein composition – you can be certain that there is nothing in our hydrogel that would interfere with your experiment

Free from growth-factors – our hydrogel is free from growth factors such as FGF, EGF etc.

Easy to use and store – you receive a plate with the hydrogel inside, which is ready to be seeded with cells immediately. It can also be stored in the fridge for future use.

Support for cells – our hydrogel provides the optimal platform for 3D cell.

Recovery of cells for further tests – the Digestion Kit enables you to extract cultured cells from the hydrogel and use them for downstream testing.

Transparent – our hydrogel is transparent, so you can easily observe the cells under a microscope and document the experiment as it progresses.

Batch to batch repeatability – you can be sure that your experiments will be repeatable and the results reliable, no matter which batch you use.

Customized – different cells have different environmental needs. We can match the hydrogel with the optimal characteristics (such as hardness) for your chosen cell type.

Angiogenesis tests and aortic ring assays – our hydrogel can be used for a wide variety of tests, including some that are impossible on most other platforms – such as angiogenesis tests (in vitro tube formation assays) and aortic ring assays.
